SUMMARY:Walking Tour: The Story of Colonial York
DESCRIPTION:York was permanently settled beginning in the 1630s by English colonists. Prior to that time\, the Abenaki people had been coming to York seasonally for centuries\, farming and fishing near York River\, and calling the region Agamenticus. Throughout the colonial period\, York was the county seat for the Province of Maine\, the center of legal activity\, and a port town whose economy thrived on maritime trade. This walking tour explores the story of colonial York\, and the economic and social transformations that took place following the American Revolution. \nThe tour begins promptly at the Old York Museum Center at 3 Lindsay Rd. Parking is available along Lindsay Road and in Old York’s parking lot. Please arrive no later than 5 minutes prior to the start time. \nThe tour lasts approximately an hour\, and covers a two-block area along York Street. The terrain is uneven\, and comfortable shoes are recommended. There is a slight incline on Gaol Hill.

SUMMARY:City of Angels
DESCRIPTION:Two worlds. One writer. Zero easy exits. \nWhen New York novelist Stine is lured to Hollywood to adapt his detective stories for the silver screen\, he trades the gritty East Coast for a land of perennial sunshine and palm trees. But the real drama happens off-page. The Tony Award-winning City of Angels seamlessly weaves between two worlds: the vivid Technicolor reality of 1940s Hollywood and the gritty\, black-and-white film noir of Stine’s imagination. As his fictional detective navigates a world of shadows\, Stine faces his own dangerous temptations—sultry distractions\, the hollow promise of fame\, and the relentless pressure to compromise his art. Witty\, glamorous\, and atmospheric\, this production features a sensational jazz score including “You Can Always Count on Me” and “I’m Nothing Without You.” \nPresented by Special Arrangement with Concord Theatricals

SUMMARY:The Producers
DESCRIPTION:The Mel Brooks Musical \nBased on 1968 cult classic comedy\, The Producers tells the story of theatrical producer Max Bialystock who realizes the road to his financial redemption lies in producing the worst musical ever written\, raising 25\,000% of the capital\, and pocketing it all when the show is a one-night-only disaster. Aided and abetted by nebbish accountant named Leo Bloom\, Bialystock options the rights to a “gay romp with Adolf and Eva.” Of course\, if the show\, by some insane stretch of credulity\, were to become a hit\, Bialystock and Bloom would be thrown in jail. And that’s exactly what happens. \nOriginal Direction and Choreography by Susan Stroman\nPresented through Special Arrangement with Music Theatre International\nBy Special Arrangement with Studio Canal

SUMMARY:Historic New England and Old York Tour
DESCRIPTION:Historic New England and Old York Historical Society present 250 at Old York: The Rising Tide of Revolution. This new tour highlights York’s Loyalist and rebel politics on the eve of the American Revolution\, as well as its economic ties to Great Britain. This two-part program starts with a tour of Jonathan Sayward’s home\, the Sayward-Wheeler House. The tour includes stories of Sayward\, York’s best-known Loyalist\, and two men he enslaved\, Prince and Cato\, who sought freedom by joining the Continental Army. Following the house tour\, participants will take a break for lunch before meeting at Old York Historical Society’s Museum Center for a walking tour of York village. The tour will include a stop at Sayward’s gravesite in the Old Burial Ground. Guests will also visit the Revolutionary York exhibit in the Remick Gallery\, featuring objects that belonged to Sayward and his family. \nFor the Old York member discount use code: OLDYORK
