If you’re starting to break a sweat as summer heats up, you’re in for a treat—because our latest obsession is Wicked Good Ice Cream right here in York, Maine.

A Scoop of History

Perched less than a stone’s throw from Short Sands Beach, Wicked Good has been delighting locals and tourists alike since Martha and David Danilowicz took over in 2005, later expanding into the bustling Atlantic House in 2021. More space meant more deliciousness: freshly made waffle cones, dairy-free flavors, Italian ice, smoothies, and even coffee and pastries.

What Makes It Wicked Good

  • Menu variety: Starting with premium ice cream, they also serve frozen yogurt, sorbet, soft-serve, fruit smoothies, and even Richie’s Italian ice.
  • House-made waffle cones: Crispy, sweet, and piping-hot right from the iron.

Our Recent Visit

I stopped in on a sun-drenched afternoon. The line was starting to build up, but moved fast—classic summer surge—but we bounced around chatting about our day at the beach. My mom and I went for a cookie dough in a cup, while my dad got Dinosaur Crunch in a dipped waffle cone (blue vanilla ice cream, fudge swirl, chocolate crunchy candies). Both flavors hit the spot perfectly! The temps cooled the moment we had our spoons out.
